We run two Forest Kindergarten groups. One group meets on the Käferberg / Rehsprung, the other in the woods of the Uetliberg.
Troll Forest Kindergarten is open throughout all the seasons and in all weathers. The forest is a world without walls and doors; it gives the children the space to be freely active and act on the desire to move which is so natural at this age.
For our kindergarten teaching we use the children’s own intrinsic desire to learn and explore in a very natural way. Plants and animals are discovered and identified using guidebooks. Troll children learn to be mindful of the natural world. We read stories, (forest) topics are developed and there is still plenty of time for free play.
The mixed age group in which children from the first and second kindergarten years learn together, enables individual assistance without risk of over- or under-stimulation.
Our educational targets are based on the Cantonal Curriculum.
